TIM SCANLAN and MANA OKUBO
One man band Tim Scanlan teams up with fiddler Mana Okubo from Japan’s ‘John John Festival’, mixing ancient tunes and drones with modern beats and sounds. Equally at home playing a midnight spot in a nightclub, and a Sunday arvo session at a cafe, the duo produce a sound going from acoustic sing along chant songs to huge kick drum, fiddle flying over bass drones dance tunes. They’ve played festivals around the world including Interceltique Festival in France, Vancouver Folk Festival in Canada, Bonnawanda Festival in Japan and the legendary Electric Picnic in Ireland.
